Fast, Efficient, Great Value Apostille Service

Hasib Heron Notary

What is an Apostille?

An apostille refers to authentication by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). It confirms that a document has been certified by a specific public official.

We have two apostille services:

Premium Apostille Service

This is a same day or next service for urgent requests.

Standard Apostille Service

This service takes 3-5 working days and is ideal if you’re not in a rush.

Our team will personally submit your document to the Legalisation Offices – the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO). No third parties will be used ensuring your documents are handled discretely and quickly. We will immediately let you know if there is an issue at the FCDO and will work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Most documents will need to be notarised before they can be apostilled.  However any documents issued and signed by a UK government department can be apostilled directly. This includes birth, death and marriage certificates, certified Companies House documents, and HMRC certificates. If you have a medical letter signed by an NHS registered doctor, this can also be apostilled directly.

Contact us today to find out more.

Consular Legalisation:

We submit documents at embassies, consulates, and high commissions for authentication.

Certain countries will require a document to be stamped by their embassy in London after it has been apostilled. If a country has signed by to the Hague Apostille Convention this is not required. Today, there are only a few countries where this is required, notably the UAE. Read more about the changes made in early 2025.

When is Embassy Legalisation required?

HOW MUCH DOES CONSULAR LEGALISATION COST?

We charge a fixed handling fee of £100 + VAT.  This is charged regardless of how many documents you have.  For this fee we will handle the entire application, handle payment to the consulate, and personally submit and collect your document. Our latest prices can be viewed here.

Each consulate will additionally charge their own fee to legalise the document. Prices can vary depending on whether it is a personal or commercial document. We will advise you at the outset how much the fee is likely to be.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Requirements vary according to the consulate. China for example will require a signed legalisation form by the client, and has specific instructions on the binding of documents. The UAE and Qatar do not accept bundled documents meaning that documents must be notarised and apostilled separately. We are experts on consular legalisation. We will advise you at the outset of any requirements you need to know.
