Regulatory Information

Hasib Heron holds Professional Indemnity Insurance of up to £1 million and is regulated through the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

A notary public is a public official responsible for the authentication of documents for use abroad. Notaries are lawyers and undergo special training, including a two-year Notarial Practice Course, before they are appointed. We are the oldest branch of the legal profession and are regulated by the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

There are only approximately 700 notaries in the jurisdiction of England and Wales. Unlike other countries, such as France or the US, notarisation in England and Wales is only needed for documents to be used outside of the country.

Some common documents we notarise include:
Adoption certificate, Affidavit, Articles of Association, Bank statement, Board Resolution, Certificate of freesale, Certificate of incorporation, Memorandum of Association, Certificate of naturalisation Change of name deed, Companies House document, coroner’s report, county court document, court document, Court of Bankruptcy document, Cremation certificate, Criminal records check, Decree absolute, Decree nisi, degree certificate or transcript, Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) document, Department of Health (DH) document, Diploma, Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) document, Disclosure Scotland document, Doctor’s letter, Driving Licence, Educational certificate, Export certificate, Family Division of the High Court of Justice document, Fingerprints document, Fit note, Gender Recognition certificate, Grant of Probate, High Court of Justice document, HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) document, Home Office (HO) document, Last will and testament, Letter from an employer, Letter of enrolment, Letter of invitation, Letter of no trace, Medical report, Medical test results, Minutes of a meeting, Passport, pet export document (DEFRA), police disclosure document, Power of attorney, professional qualification certificate, Reference from an employer, Religious document, School document, Sheriff Court document, Sick note, Statutory declaration, Translation, UK Marriage certificate, UK Marriage certificate issued by a place of worship, Utility bill, Veterinary document

Notarisation is a common requirement for international businesses.  Whether setting up a subsidiary office, registering a trademark or simply submitting KYC documents to foreign banks, notarisation will be required.

We have experience helping different types of businesses with their requirements. We can help you whether you are a start-up just beginning your business journey, or a large FTSE100 company.

As businesses often need recurring notarial services, we have developed systems to make the notarial process simple and easy to use. We can provide training guidance to your staff on important things to note to avoid any issues. We will on-board regular signatories, keeping their signatures on file for future jobs. We will utilise our fast courier network to ship your documents anywhere in the world. We offer bespoke invoicing arrangements and VAT receipts.

We provide notary services for all. No job is too big or too small. Whether you need a copy of your passport notarised to open a bank account abroad, or a complex power of attorney to purchase a property in Spain, we can help.

We have years of experience notarising documents. We have seen it all. This allows us to share our knowledge with you ensuring that your document is notarised correctly and you avoid any issues down the line.

We provide a one-stop shop for all your notary requirements.

If you need a translation of your document, we can help. We can get your document translated fast and accurately into any language.

We will then provide a legal translation.  Your translation will have a Certificate of Authenticity from the translator confirming the accuracy of the translation.  This will be notarised by our team of notaries.

You can email us a scan of the document that needs translating. We will then check with our translators.  We charge a fixed handling fee for the translation of £50 + VAT.  VAT may not apply if you are based outside of the UK.  The total translation cost will depend on how many words are in the document.

Translations usually take 2-3 working days. If you need it quicker, get in touch. For urgent requests we can translate your document within 24 hours.  Once the translation has been completed, the notarisation can be done in a matter of minutes.
