Hasib Heron Notary

What Identification do I need?

Although each case will be different, the Notary will need to be satisfied that you understand any document, if the document is not in English, please let the notary know in advance.

It helps a lot if you can email a copy of your document to us in advance of your appointment.

We require the following forms of ID from any client requesting notarisation:

If there will be more than one person signing a document, each person signing will need to provide the above documentation.

If you are signing on behalf of an individual, you will need to provide a copy of the power of attorney authorising you to do so.

If you are signing on behalf of the company, you will need to provide evidence the company exists, and that you are authorised to sign the document. For UK companies, we can check the company exists ourselves, however for foreign companies you should provide a recent extract from the local commercial registry or a certificate of incumbency. To show you have authority, we will need to see either evidence that you can sign singly for the company (e.g. articles of association, a company extract), or that the other directors consent to you signing (e.g. board resolution, minutes of a meeting, authorised signatory list).

Stages of a Notarial Transaction:

Reach out and tell us exactly what you need. If you can, send us a scan of the document. We will review your requirements and get back to you.

We will advise on the costs and offer you a clear solution to complete your task. If you need an appointment we will set up a time and date.

Attend the appointment. Bring your ID documents with you and complete our Client Registration Form. We will notarise the document whilst you wait.

The appointment should take approximately 30 minutes. At the end we’ll hand you your document and send you a scan.

Send us your document. If we don’t need you to attend you just need to send us your document. You will need to complete our Client Registration Form and complete a quick ID check on your phone using ThirdFort.

We will then complete the notarisation, email you a scan, and return the document back to you via your chosen method.

Are additional services needed? For example an apostille.

We will take care of the entire process for you. Once done, we’ll share a scan, and return the document back to you.

How much does a notary cost?

Every notary is free to set their own price. Costs can vary according to region and city. We believe that notarisation should be affordable for all and offer highly competitive prices.

For most documents we offer a fixed price of £80 + VAT. Company documents start from £100 + VAT.  Additional documents are discounted and charged at £40 + VAT. If you are based outside the UK, VAT may not apply.
For more complex documents we may charge more. Rates will be determined based on an hourly rate of £250 + VAT. You will always be advised at the outset of the cost.

If you need additional services such as an apostille, consular legalisation or translation, additional costs may incur.
Sometimes we also need to carry out checks with third parties. We may be charged for these checks. For example, if we need to verify the authenticity of your degree certificate. We will pass on these costs to you directly without adding on anything extra. This are called “disbursements”.

How long will it take?

If the document is straightforward, already prepared and in the correct form we are likely to need to see you for a minimum of 15–20 minutes and complete what needs to be done in half an hour.  Obviously, it takes longer if the document is not straightforward, or we must draw up the document or make a proper copy.

Having all documents to hand alongside appropriate identification may help a notary more efficiently handle your document process.
